How we create time & reality
Video

Reality
The reality we perceive is not a direct reflection of the objective external world.
Rather, perception is based on predictions that the brain makes about the causes of incoming sensory signals.
By deviating from these predictions, we continuously correct our view of the world. Perception is thus based on controlled hallucination.
The reality we experience - how things appear to be - does not directly reflect what is actually there. Rather, it is a construction of the brain.
Time
Time is also a part of reality and thereby as well shaped by our perception.
The outside time does not always correspond how we perceive the flow of time for ourselves, cause its controlled by our own perception model.
Our inner feeling of time is affected by how we processes images and experiences.
The more we experience and remember, the longer the period of time seems to us.
New things, new inputs, new approaches and experiences leading to a longer periode of time.
Focusing time also stretches our feeling of the present lifespan.
Beeing aware and in an conscious emotional state also allows the brain to perceive and store more experiences in our long-term memory.
Routines and the experience of fewer and fewer events we remember shortens our feeling of time.
This also applies to information we dont process and remember.
Though we shape our own reality, we also shape our own experienced time.
